Description
The chick's parents stay just a few feet from the chicks so they can learn to feed themselves. The parents are watchdogs for the chicks in case of any danger, such as hawks. This chick is about two weeks old if that. :o)
Taken with a Nikon CoolPix P900 at San Joaquin Wildlife Refuge, Irvine, CA.
