I homeschooled my youngest daughter, because I knew school would tamper with her love of learning. At eleven, she insisted on seeing a Shakespearian play. I told her she would need to read a play first, so she would understand the language. We read from my college text, and looked up every unknown passage. We started with The Merchant of Venice, and went enthusiastically from play to play, enjoying live performances at two theaters. By far the most stunning was A Midsummer Night's Dream, with the fairies on trapezes above us. A love of learning is the most important gift a teacher can give, and it sounds like you had such a teacher.

Bunny Clarke replied:

I was a very curious child. I drove my parents crazy with questions. I was introduced to the library and later to theater houses. My mom often bought kits for learning, like for chemistry, geology, astronomy, etc. Anything to make sure I didn't harass the parents. LOL! Thank you. :o)
